Zero Fee English Scholarship

Southern Institute of Technology Ltd. (SIT) is a government accredited tertiary provider of NZQA programmes (Certificates, Diplomas, Bachelor’s Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, and Master’s Degrees).

SIT offers a unique opportunity to study at Southern Lakes English College (SLEC) and get the amount invested on your English course discounted from the SIT full time courses. List of SIT courses.

This package is called the Zero Fee English (ZFE) Scholarship and is eligible to students from Far East Asia, South America, and certain European countries to help improve their academic English language skills, assisting them to gain the English language entry requirements they need to move to a mainstream programme of their choice.

Students intending to undertake the 26-Week English Scholarship at SLEC must be accepted at SIT through a Conditional Offer of Place. Also, they will need to provide an upfront payment of NZ$9,300 for the Academic English programme and insurance fees.

If a student meets the English entry requirements through an official English proficiency exam, and is accepted into a SIT mainstream programme of at least one-year full-time duration, the upfront payment will be discounted from the tuition fees at SIT.

Students are required to pay the remaining tuition fee balance and any applicable resource fee (Administration Fees) for the SIT mainstream programme.

Southern Lakes English College (SLEC), which is wholly owned by SIT, offers the Zero Fee English (ZFE) Scholarship which is transferable to a mainstream course offered by SIT.

To qualify for the 26-Week English Scholarship at SLEC, please contact our helpful SLEC team and we’ll be happy to explain the scholarships and conditions step by step. *
